IPL

In a pulsating clash at the Wankhede, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally shattered their jinx against Mumbai Indians (MI), sealing a thrilling 12-run victory in a high-scoring encounter.

RCB posted a daunting 221/5, led by a vintage Virat Kohli, who scored a stylish 67 off 42 balls, becoming the first Indian to cross 13,000 T20 runs in the process. Skipper Rajat Patidar (64 off 32) was ruthless in the death overs, while Jitesh Sharma's 19-ball 40 added late fireworks. Trent Boult took two wickets but leaked 57 runs in his four overs.

In response, MI's chase was on fire thanks to Tilak Varma's explosive 56 off 29 and Hardik Pandya’s blitz of 42 off just 15. The duo threatened to pull off a heist with a 89-run stand, but the RCB bowlers held their nerve. Josh Hazlewood and Krunal Pandya picked up two and four wickets respectively, while Yash Dayal removed Rohit and Surya at crucial junctures.

Despite MI reaching 209/9, the target proved just out of reach. This win not only propels RCB up the table but also gives them a massive morale boost heading deeper into the tournament. A statement victory, and one to remember!
